The vice chair of board of Directors officiates an opening of the DLP first intake 2014.

On 27th January 2014, the Institute of Legal Practice Development ILPD opened the Diploma in Legal Practice training first intake of 2014. For this intake 71 students are regestered and among them 39 are from EAC countries. The trainees include judges, prosecutors and private students from Rwanda, Kenya and Uganda And many of them are recent University graduates.

Officiating at the opening of this training, the vice chair of the ILPD Board of Directors, MUNYOYE Grace addressing the trainees, talked about the importance of the training to the promotion of the rule of law and good governance, and encouraged them to exploit on a maxmum level this opportunity. “Engage your collegues and Lecturers, challenge them for your own benefits.” She said.

In his remarks, the Rector of ILPD Prof. Nick Johnson requested the students to be self critical in their own practice and to pay attention to datail. He explained the key important factors of independence and justice and horizontal and vertical learning as the two ways of learning that students may use. ILPD has been giving this training for six years and is planning to start a part time program in kigali on 10th february 2014.
