The Minister of Justice Officially Opened a 2014 DLP second intake
Tuesday, 15th July 2014, ILPD Hold the ceremonies of official opening of 2014 second intake for the Diploma in Legal practice.
Honorable Minister of justice BUSINGE Johnson, who opened officially the second intake, expressed to be privileged being part of such opening ceremony as one who knows ILPD from its beginning up to where it is now. He remembered the audience that laws are like a backbone of the society and pointed out that ILPD has been known as the high quality institute through its academic activities, the diploma it delivers and for the contribution to the country in the justice Sector.
He asked the new students to perform following the example that big personalities like Mahatouma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela showed to the entire society. Minister BUSINGE Johnson addressed the farewells to Professor Nick Johnson because it was the last event that Professor Nick Johnson attended as rector, Minister thanked him for the true spirit of a real warrior he showed by saying that fail was not ever the option for him.
The event attracted the eyes of government officials; Minister of Justice BUSINGE Johnson, mayor of nyanza district MURENZI Abdallah, the ILPD board management represented by the Rector Professor NICK Johnson, ILPD Staff and the participation of new students.
Professor NICK Johnson, the ILPD Rector in his welcoming remarks said that the ILPD has been contributing in delivering best practices for diploma in legal practice students and such contribution will last forever. He asked the second intake to be characterized by the good ethics based on the integrity and trust in their domain and wishing them successful affirmatives.
At this occasion ILPD and the district of Nyanza signed the memorandum of understand which covers and improves the parternership of District of Nyanza and ILPD in different fields.
The 2014 second intake counts the total of 62 students from Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya and Malawi and are all supposed to complete six months required for diploma in legal practice.
