The MINIJUST PS Closes Training on Public Service Ethics and Law of Torts: Negligence and Malfeasance.

On Thursday April 21st , 2016, The Permanent Secretary in  Ministry of Justice Madam Isabelle Kalihangabo officiated the closure of a four day training on Public Service Ethics and Law of Torts( Negligence and Malfeasance), at The Institute of Legal Practice and Development in Nyanza. The Training was delivered to different Government Legal Officials in the spirit of fighting Government losses especially those caused by Negligence and Malfeasance, in Public Procurement, and funds management.

The Permanent Secretary appealed to all participants to use the skills acquired, to improve on their performances and guard the Government against losses, by providing expertise counsel to their respective Institutions. The Trainees confirmed that they appreciated the role of Legal Officers, the standards that are expected of all public servants, the importance of managing risk, the art of drafting good contracts and employing best practices in Procurement, amongst others.

The Guest of Honor also recognized the efforts of the trainers (Scott Milligan, Jennifer Oborne and Tony Martin). These trainers were out sourcedwho travelled from the United Kingdom (UK) to share their expertize and a wealth of experience to Rwandan Legal Officers and equip them with the skills that can help the country to completely bring to an end any losses especially caused by Negligence and Malfeasance.
