The Institute of Legal Practice and Development opened January intake/2018 of DLP full time in Nyanza

This Tuesday 16, January 2018 marks the official opening of the January Intake/DLP. The opening was officiated by Dr Didas M.KAYIHURA, ILPD Rector. More than 75 students have been admitted to this postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice program (DLP).

In his opening remarks, Dr. Kayihura M. Didas, the Rector of ILPD welcomed the trainees and ensured them that the Institute will fully satisfy their expectations by offering qualitative legal skills. He further promised the partnership in resolving some problems they will face during their stay at ILPD.

Students were explained in brief about the academic life such as the course delivery process; ILPD support services such as the library usage; class and exams rules and regulations and their financial obligations.

This intake is dominated by Ghanaians and Cameroonians. It is for the first time for ILPD to host trainees from Ghana. Asked about how they knew ILPD, Sulemana B.B Bening, a trainee from Ghana answered that they got information on the internet. They saw that ILPD is a very good school and decided to join the institute to furnish their legal professionals.

This intake has trainees from seven nationalities that are Uganda, Kenya, South Sudan, Cameroon, Gambia, Ghana, and Rwanda. The training program will last 9 months, those include 6 months for the formal learning plus three months of internship.

The institute of Legal Practice has been operating since 2008 and was established to equip legal professionals with the necessary practical legal skills.
