Official opening for the new DLP/Full Time Mode intake Nyanza

This intake is composed of 57 students in total. Among them 37 are from other countries one of them is from cameroun, one from Zambia and 35 Ugandans.
In his opening remarks the Ag. Rector of ILPD Aimable Havugiyaremye expressed his deep feeling towards the choice of students to have joined. He encouraged them to explore the facilities that ILPD has. He stressed on the fact that the most obvious mission of ILPD is teaching legal practitioners. He hereby invited them to spend a long time acquiring practical skills as they already have enough theories from the University. For him the practice exercises are of a big importance in their career development “you are what you practice more” he said.
The Ag.Rector reminded students that they are not there just to get degrees but to gain knowledge and that knowledge is the power that will make them great legal professionals in the future.
The students said that they are expecting to gain practical knowledge from ILPD to complement what they learnt in faculties of law.
Emmanuel Nsengiyumva, one of the trainees is confident that after this course he will be a full professional in Justice Sector since he is expecting to acquire practical skills he could not acquire on Bachelor level.
Nattu ESUKA, a Ugandan Lawyer witnessed that it is not easy to be registered in a such school in Uganda, so he is thankful for the Institute for admittinging foreign students .
At the completion of this program, students will receive the Diploma in Legal Practice. This qualification is mandatory for legal practitioners especially in Rwanda.
