Neil shared that he learned about ILPD through online research while looking for a reputable law school in Africa. His quest led him to assess the rule of law rankings across the continent, and Rwanda caught his attention as the top-ranked country in this regard. Intrigued by Rwanda's legal environment and professions, Neil discovered that certain legal roles; including lawyers, judges, and prosecutors, often required an ILPD diploma. This revelation prompted him to explore the ILPD website, where he found the practical program offerings that resonated with his aspirations.

Neil expressed satisfaction with his initial interactions at ILPD, noting that he was warmly received during his visits to the facilities and induction week. He commended the professionalism displayed by the staff and highlighted Nyanza's tranquil environment as conducive to focused and peaceful study.

Driven by ILPD's motto, "Excellence in Legal Practice," Neil emphasized his expectation of acquiring a high level of practical legal knowledge by the end of the program. He envisions being equipped with the skills necessary for professional development in the legal field.

The ILPD's broader objective is to become an "IHURIRO," serving as a meeting place for legal professionals from Rwanda, the region, Africa, and beyond; ILPD is now 15 years old and thousands of lawyers, judges and prosecutors have attended its courses.
