ILPD Launches 9th Executive Mode of Diploma in Legal Practice Programme in Kigali

Friday, 19th July 2024, the Institute of Legal Practice and Development (ILPD) launched the 9th Executive Mode intake of the Diploma in Legal Practice (DLP) programme in Kigali. This prestigious event highlighted the institute's ongoing commitment to enhancing the legal profession in Rwanda and beyond through advanced education and training.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of the ILPD’s Rector, the Academic Registrar, faculty members and the new cohort of executive mode students.
In his opening remarks, the Rector of ILPD, Dr. Aimé Muyoboke KARIMUNDA, emphasized the vital role that innovation and specialization play in the modern legal landscape. He urged the participants to embrace these qualities, which are crucial for their professional growth and the development of the legal field.
"We need innovative and specialized lawyers who can explore new fields of law that require specialization, such as energy law; lawyers who move beyond routine legal practices and adopt new technological approaches," the Rector stated.
Dr. KARIMUNDA highlighted the growing importance of specialization in the legal sector, pointing out that areas such as energy law are becoming increasingly relevant in today's globalized and technologically driven world. He encouraged the participants to delve into these specialized fields, which offer immense opportunities and are critical to addressing complex legal challenges in various sectors.
