ILPD Conducts the Training on Media Legal Reporting for Public Relations and Communication officers of the Justice Sector

On this Friday 12 August 2016, the Academic Registrar of ILPD officiated the closing of a five days training on Media Legal Reporting for communication officers of the Justice sector.

The training took place at ILPD Nyanza and 21 Communication officers from various justice sector institutions benefited from it.

During the training, participants were given the introduction to law, basic principles of law, legal terminologies, knowledge about the civil law and common law systems, and the skills of legal reporting in different situations.

While closing the training, the Academic Registrar Epimaque Musafiri reminded the trainees the role of this training which is to clarify Dos and Don’ts in Media Legal Reporting. Denise Nsanga who took a speech on behalf of the trainees assured that this training was successful and beneficial to their daily duties and responsibilities, she also recommended the same training for Journalists who report on law Cases.

The training was delivered by Dr. Frank Asimwe, a known professional lawyer in Rwanda who also has experience in the area of Media as a consultant.
