This Saturday 24
th February 2018 was reserved for national community works known as umuganda. DLP students have fully participated and enjoyed the exercise in Gatare village, Nyanza cell, Busasamana sector of Nyanza district.
The umuganda brought together different citizens from various institutions such as ILPD Community, Volcano, Horizon and Motorcyclist association and the local community. T
hey all worked to widen the road to Nyanza cell headquarters past Nyanza diary.
Joseph Austeen Odhiambo Onyango, a Kenyan ILPD trainee said that the exercise was very amazing as part from the cleaning of environment, it also served as funding and bonding session to unite the people.
Showing her gratitude, Madam Patrice Scully, an American Peace Corps Volunteer assigned to work at ILPD, said: “I look forward to participating in umuganda every month while I am in Rwanda. I enjoyed meeting so many friendly and hardworking people.”
The executive Secretary of Nyanza cell, MURERE Etienne, was happy with ILPD that honored the invitation to umuganda to that extent and wished the partnership to continue.
