EAC judicial officers meet to discuss on terrorism, corruption and electronic crimes
On this 27th May 2015, the Ag. Rector of ILPD officiated the training of EAC judicial committee at ILPD-Rwanda.
Terrorism crimes, electronic crimes and corruption are the main objectify of the three days meeting of EAC Judicial committee. The meeting took place at ILPD in Nyanza District from 23rd to 27th May 2015.
As said by the Ag Rector of ILPD Aimable Havugiyaremye, during the meeting participants discussed on strategies that can be applied to overcome these crimes especially in punishing those who are found guilty of those crimes.
Hon. Ferdinand Wambali, the chairperson of the EAC Judicial committee told the trainees that this training has to change their attitude. “Sometimes people attend trainings and left what they leant at the training place, But when you receive knowledge it has to change your attitude and you start operating properly.” He said.
According to Claudine Kaneza the Legal Advisor of the Burundi justice Minister, this training is a good opportunity to see how other countries address the crimes and from that experience you can do better in your country.
EAC Judicial committee is on of the committees that are made to facilitate harmonization of the region’s life. And it focus the justice sector especially judicial matters. The similar meetings have been conducted in other EAC partnerstates.
