573 Judges Trained on Procedures in Civil Matters

From the 1st to the 4th September 2014, ILPD Conducted the training on Procedures in civil Matters. This training took place in Kigali, Musanze, Muhanga , Rusizi and Nyanza. In total 573 Judges and Registrars were trained. Speaking to journalists, the vice president of the high Court Jean Marie Vianney HITIMANA the training aimed at clarifying and explain to judges the law governing Procedures in civil matters. ”helping them to know what does the law says exactly” he said. As though the law is there but it does not explain in details how to implement it. HITIMANA confirmed that the training was a success. Trainers have agreed about some recommendations and suggestions that are to be taken into consideration by the Supreme Court. NYIRANEZA Fortunée, Chief Registrar of high Court said that this training brought solutions to overcome some challenges that they were facing in their daily activities. RUZINDANA Alexis, the Director of Training and Research, asked the trainees to put into acts what they have learnt in the training, which for him will reduce the time that it took to have access to justice “the delayed justice is not justice at all” he said. ahirwa@ilpd.ac.rw / 30th september 2014
