ILPD Information 

The Institute of Legal Practice and Development (ILPD) serves as a national and regional centre of reference for:

1) practical legal training, and

2) research and development of  the law,

in three languages (English, French & Kinyarwanda). The three legal traditions (common law, civil law & African law) meet at the Institute.

The ILPD is community oriented, for instance through the ‘Maison d’Access à la Justice’, whose offices are located at the ILPD.

The Vice Rector in Charge of Administration and Finance has the following responsibilities:

 1. Prepare the organizational structure of ILPD and monitor its operationazation;

 2. Make a plan regarding the revenue and ILPD expenditure and supervise their use;

 3. Preparing the budget proposal of ILPD;

 4. Promote income generating activities;

 5. Make a quarterly report showing expenditures and revenues;

 6. Make an accounting report at the end of each year;

 7. Perform any other function related to its duties and other duties which may be assigned by the Rector.
