ILPD Information 

The Institute of Legal Practice and Development (ILPD) serves as a national and regional  centre of reference for:

1) practical legal training, and

2) research and development of  the law,

in three languages (English, French & Kinyarwanda). The three legal traditions (common law, civil law & African law) meet at the Institute.

The ILPD is community oriented, for instance through the ‘Maison d’Access à la Justice’, whose offices are located at the ILPD.

Office of Rector 

 

The Rector of ILPD manages and coordinates all activities of the ILPD management academic, administrative and financial.

He / she shall include the following:

 1. Implement the decisions of the Board;

 2. Submit to the Board the proposed budget of the institute;

 3. Ensure the use and management of finances of the institute;

 4. to ensure the protection and discipline of students and staff;

 5 Represent the Institute within and outside the country;

 6. Prepare annual reports and financial activity that will be submitted to the Board of Directors;

 7. Designate the person who replaces him in the absence of the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs;

 8. Perform any other tasks related to its function and which may be assigned or delegated by the board of directors.
